I am definitely ready for classes to start. I miss the campus atmosphere and meeting new people in class. I miss walking into class and learning new things along with other people. This Fall I am taking five classes instead of four like the previous semesters. I will be attending two classes on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s and I have three online classes. The style of an online class is something that is new to me. Continue Reading
I have been doing a lot of thinking about saving money recently. It has never really bothered me that I have not been saving money for the future. I think now I am beginning to wise up a bit. With immature budgeting on my part and tuition costs, I have to take out loans to pay for school. I could have so much money right now in the bank, but I do not. I started working when I was 16 and the difference between the amount I could have had by now, versus the actual amount I have now, is huge. Continue Reading
I have been working pretty hard lately to stay in shape and lose a few pounds. I have been running a bunch training for a half-marathon in September. After a late night run after I got off from work last Thursday, I stepped on the scale and it read 199.4. That is the first time I have gotten a reading under 200lbs. Sure, I lost a lot of water weight on the 7.4 mile run that night, but I still count it! I have weighed myself after sweating before and it had not gotten down that low even then. Continue Reading
Hitesh and I have been friends before I even knew what a friend was. My parents moved into a house, that we currently reside in, when I was only one year old. I think I was about four years old when I met Hitesh. He was around six years old at the time. He lives just three doors down from me. Our parents met, and thus, we met for the first time. He showed me the world of video gaming. Well, at least the video game system of that time, Super Nintendo. (Which he still has, by the way.) Continue Reading
The school semester is coming to an end and it is a very stressful time. I feel very stressed because there are so many end of the semester projects and tests that need to be completed. Only two more weeks of class left, this week and next week. Then it will be finals week. I believe all of my finals occur on Monday and Tuesday. So after then is when I will be done. I certainly can not wait until I do not have to attend class during the summer. I am just going to relax and enjoy the summer, besides working at the hospital. That is what the summer is for. Sometimes, near the end of summer break I want to get back to school, because there is so much free time in the summer. I am not going to let that happening. I plan on making this summer a great one. I want to do a lot of things this summer. I am not sure what those things are yet, but they will definitely keep me busy.
As of right now, I am extremely busy with schoolwork, so hopefully I can get through these next three weeks with good grades and I can take a sigh of relief.
At 1:00PM today I shook my first boss’ hand as I clocked out for the final time at my first place of employment as a teen. I was originally hired in May of 2008. I have put in four years of work there, and I think it is time to move on. It was not going to be easy for me to work two jobs and go to school, so I am sticking with my new job. It feels great to be moving on and doing something new. I will visit the grocery store every once and awhile when I need some groceries. I definitely will not forget all of the people I have worked with and the experiences I had at the store. All of the laughs that were caused by all of the screwing around will never be forgotten. There are some things I had a tough time working with and that I thought I could fix, but it did not seem like I could make a big enough difference to make the work easier for everyone. It is a small store will tightly knit employees so there was plenty of drama to go around, and that is something I will not miss. There is drama at my new place of employment as well. I think there is a bit in every workplace. Continue Reading
Last Friday, the Mega Millions Jackpot became the largest amount in history. You better believe I bought tickets for the drawing. I was not very hopeful seeing as everyone else in the U.S. was buying multiple tickets to try to cash in on some luck. The previous Friday the jackpot was $290 million. I bought tickets for that one, because I thought that was a pretty large jackpot than normal. I did not win anything that night. I missed buying tickets for the following drawing on Tuesday when still no one had all six numbers match on their ticket. After that, ticket sales boomed everywhere with record sales.
Everyone was talking about the jackpot on Friday, the day of the big drawing. Someone was sure to win. I was at work when the drawing took place, and looked up the winning numbers when I arrived home. Not a single winning ticket was in my hand. Oh well. It was worth a shot right? One out of 176 million chances to win.
