This weekend I had the most amazing time running the Color Run in Indianapolis! I signed up a few months ago and finally the weekend arrived! I drove down to Indy on Friday evening to pick up my race packet that contained the items I needed in order to do the run. I did not want to drive down to the city super early Saturday morning from Fort Wayne, because the run started at 8AM. I asked around and found a place to stay near Indianapolis for Friday night. My friend’s parents used to live in a house on the east side of the city. All that was left in this house was a mattress and a few boxes of stuff. That is all I needed for the night! Continue Reading
Wow what a weekend it has been! I try to make the best of every weekend I have off from work and try to do something fun. Until Monday, I did not have anything planned for this past weekend. Bored one evening, I was scrolling through my Facebook news-feed and saw a video one of my friends, Dan, had made. It was about the Holler Hoppin Zip Lines in Nashville, Indiana. He is doing an internship there for the summer. I knew immediately that is what I was going to do on the weekend! I found out it was only $30 to zip and made a reservation for Saturday right away. I just got back from my first baseball game this season at Parkview Field. Even though the TinCaps lost, I had a good time with my best friend, Hitesh. I had the night off from work and decided it would be fun to head to a baseball game. Tickets are fairly cheap in Fort Wayne for a minor league game. $5 got us a lawn seat in the outfield, but as soon as the game started we moved to a section with seats. It was a Wednesday night game, so it wasn’t too packed and there were plenty of seats available. Food prices are always ridiculous at sporting events, but we went and got some ice cream anyway. We came to the conclusion that there were more good-looking chicks attending than we expected. Girls like a good baseball game I suppose! After the team was quickly down five to nothing, Hitesh and I decided to walk around the concourse for a while, eyes shifting from the game to the babes, then the babes to the game. You know, back and forth…(you guys out there understand!) It was a pretty fun night overall. They played the song “Call Me Maybe” quite a bit and I had it stuck in my head. I kept singing it and I know Hitesh wanted to punch me. Before heading out we watched the post-game fireworks. And proceeded to yell nonsense things out the truck window while in the parking garage to make noise echo throughout. Good times. Good times.
Yesterday evening I participated in something call Trek the Trails. Every Tuesday people meet up to go for a bicycle ride on Fort Wayne’s Rivergreenway Trails. It was a pretty cool sight to see everybody out and about on their bicycles. These rides last no longer than 10 miles at a time. It is somewhat of a slow-paced ride. I think most people like to take in the nature scenes. I do as well, but I think I can do it riding faster than 8 mph… There were some points where there was enough room to overtake the riders in front of you. I believe the front of the pack is the place to be if you want to ride a little faster. About halfway through they stop and take a short break and let everyone catch up. I took some video clips of this ride and put them together. Enjoy!
