I was listening to the police scanner tonight to listen to any Saturday night action. I hear a “suspicious persons” call come from a familiar street name. I “googled” it really quick and of course! (realization) It is a street name in my neighborhood. I got on my bike and headed to the call location. I met a neighbor standing in his driveway. He just got home from work and saw three guys my size walking around checking cars to see if they were unlocked. Get this…I was there even before police showed up! I rode around for a bit, especially on sidewalks where police could not drive, to see if I could find them. Did not see anyone. If I had, I would subtly alert the officers in that area. Sure, I should have let the officers handle the situation, but I was on a bike and could definitely escape some loony teens if I had to. It was a fun adventure nonetheless. They should just put me in a cruiser already…
I bought a new bicycle! It has been awhile since I have owned a bike. I bought a bike, because I wanted to ride it for exercise, ride down the county roads and city trails, and possibly use it to commute to places. I know I wanted a road bike, because they go faster and there really is not any mountain riding in Indiana. Northeast Indiana is very flat. I am thinking I could possibly ride it to work on nice days. It is about seven miles from my house to the hospital. I think that is pretty feasible. Continue Reading
This weekend I went up to my Grandpa and Grandma’s lake cottage to put in the dock for the season. I really was not looking forward to it, because it is quite a tedious job with our dock. It is not what you call, “easy assembly”. It was only my father and I that put in the dock this year, but we managed.
Usually one more person would make it easier. This only has to be done once a year so I figured, what’s a couple of hours out of the weekend. It has to get done, plus makes everyone happy with a dock out for access to the fishing boat! I have yet to be the one in the water with the waiters on to assemble the dock. Continue Reading
