At work on my dinner break, I always have a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter. It is simple and convenient. Some co-workers like to rag on me or say “Peanut butter again?” I go by many names at work. Most of the time these people do not know my real name. So after almost 2 months of dating, Jill and I finally get an evening out alone with each other. And it was so amazing! We both are in school and have jobs. Also, it is sometimes hard to find someone to watch Jill’s precious daughter, Savannah (1.5 years old). We both were off work, had schoolwork caught up, and I had asked Jill’s sister to watch Savannah for the evening, so it was pretty much our first date.
We went to Takaoka of Japan for dinner! I was trying to surprise her about where we were going, but she guessed correctly from the start. It was only because she wanted to go there and I have never been. The chef’s make the food right in front of you on flat top grills, giving you a show along with dinner. It was a really cool place! When we first arrived, I did not realize that there were two restaurants in the same building and we had to walk upstairs to Takaoka. I thought that was kind of neat. Like a little restaurant hideaway. When we walked up there, I noticed it was a rather dim place, with lights shining on the tables and grills. I had made reservations previously so it did not take long to get our seats. We sat down at the table in front of the grill and I was just too excited. We both ordered the Hibachi Steak dinner. Boy, do they give you food here! The chef was amazingly quick with his hands. There were many cool tricks he did with his cooking utensils. He also made a fire volcano out of a sliced onion.
