Friday night I went to the Komets game with my friend Adam and his friend Tyler. St. Patrick’s Day is Monday, so for the two games on Friday and Saturday, the Komets wore green jerseys and had their last name printed each started with an O’. Like Shrock’s last name on his jersey read O’Shrock tonight. There was a raffle to win each of the players’ jerseys and a paper airplane toss onto the ice to win Icy’s (the mascot) green jersey. My paper airplane did not do so hot and landed in the crowd. But luckily a kid re-threw it and it made it to the ice, but not close enough to the center to win the jersey. I didn’t buy any raffle tickets for the players’ jerseys.
They were also selling beer with green dye in it. I was almost going to partake in said beer, but seven dollars for a crappy beer won’t do it for me.
The Komets haven’t been doing so well this season and are struggling to get into the playoffs, but tonight I must have been good luck. The Komets won at home 5-2. They played against the Florida Everblades. The crowd, including myself, was taunting the opposing team’s goalie at one point in the game, because we were scoring so well. It was quite a blast. I always love Komet games!
