On Friday, I received a letter in the mail from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. I have been waiting to hear back from them for a while now. I took the written test just before Thanksgiving and I knew it was going to be a bit of time for them to get back to me, but I didn’t figure it would take this long. They originally said they were trying to get someone hired for the beginning of the new year, so I thought that it was a no-go for me this first time around. However, this letter I got Friday stated I was scheduled for an interview at the beginning of February! I was nervous upon opening it, because it could have been a rejection letter. Nope! I will be taking a tour of the jail prior to the interview.
I will need to run potential interview questions through my mind and prepare for this. I will try to ask around and see what kind of interview tips I can get. This will be, by far, the most important job interview of my life. I am going to be prepared for this! I am excited. I am wondering how many people they called back for interviews. I guess I will find out! If I happen to make it through the interview stage in front of the supervisory staff, which may include the sheriff himself, then I will undergo a polygraph test. Hopefully that will be my topic for my next posting on this process!
