I have decided it is finally time to move out for the “first time”. I put that in quotations, because I was gone at Ball State for a semester in 2010 and then about half of this year was away at training, but I don’t consider those completely moving out. I am getting a one-bedroom apartment in a location that is both closer to work and school. I put in the application, but they are waiting on a recent pay stub, and I won’t be getting that to them until next Friday when my first paycheck will be available from my security job. That will show them that I will be able to afford the apartment. They’ll also have to do a credit check and all that. I know I won’t be denied. My credit is great and I will surely be making enough to cover rent and electric. I chose their largest one-bedroom with central A/C, dishwasher, and plenty of storage space. It comes with gas heating/stove and a refrigerator. They have a clubhouse and a pool there as well. I have a friend that recently moved to this location and she likes it there.
If all goes well, I should be able to move in the week of August 18, the week before school starts. I pretty much have all of the big items I need like a bed, television, computer/desk, dresser… the only big thing I still need is a couch, chair, and a smaller dining set. I’m doing a little shopping around on Craigslist and hopefully I’ll find a good deal. Also, I’ll need a lot of little stuff like towels, kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, decor pieces, etc. I will probably see what the dollar store has to offer on the kitchen things and cleaning supplies. Other things will most likely be a Walmart/Target trip. I don’t intend on spending too much money, but I want the place to look nice. It’ll take a while for the place to finally looked finished. I can paint the walls and put nails in the walls as long as I fill the holes and prime it back before I decide to leave.
It’s a big move, literally, in my life. I am ready for it!
