Today was awesome. I woke up to a phone call. On the other end was an employer looking to set up an interview. So far I’ve gotten a few of these call recently, as stated in my previous writings. This call was from CVS Store/Pharmacy. I set up an interview later in the day at 3:30pm at their new location near IPFW. I went to the interview, with shirt and tie, and accepted a job offer with CVS. Now this will be a part-time job for now, but he said it could potentially turn into a full-time position if I do well. I accepted, because this job will pay better than what I am making at Fazoli’s. I will have to resign the Fazoli’s position to take on the CVS job. Also, I’m not the biggest fan of “fast food” jobs and I have more experience in retail anyway since I had worked for Kroger for four years.
Now with the job for FWCS, I’m not sure if I want to go through with it after all. Having two jobs would be nice, but the schedule for FWCS is four hours right in the middle of the day, every day, and I don’t think that it will be beneficial to have the trouble of working around that with another job. I think I will stick solely with CVS and try to acquire a full-time position instead. Plus, FWCS is not going to be a year-round job, just during the school months. That was one highlight of the day, getting a new job that has a more enjoyable environment and one that pays better.
The second highlight of the day lasted pretty much the whole day: the weather! I couldn’t get over how nice it was today. Sunny and cooler weather. It is supposed to be nice again tomorrow too! I hear this is the kind of weather California gets year round. Boy, I would love that!
Later, after my job interview, I met up with my dad and sister. We grabbed some dinner at a local bar & grill and then headed out to the county fairgrounds for the Allen County Fair. It was plenty of fun! We looked around at all the animals that were on show. I bought one of my favorite fair snacks, caramel corn. We watched some kids get judged by this lady…goat kids that is! There were very young goats and very old goats at the fair. Other animals included pigs, llamas, alpacas, sheep, chickens, roosters, turkey, cows, horses, and any other farm animal pretty much! It was a lot of fun just walking around the fair.
After the fair we stopped at a driving range to hit a bucket of balls. It has been quite some time since I’ve been to the driving range. Nonetheless, I think I have gotten better than I used to be. After a few swings, I got the hang of it. My last ball I hit went straight out over 200 yards. I have never been out golfing before, and this kind of makes me want to get a set of cheap clubs at a garage sale or something and go golfing sometime. Who knows, I may be pretty decent given enough practice! It’s a sport I would definitely pick-up once I have my own set of clubs.
That pretty much ended the day today. It was definitely an eventful day and I loved every minute!
