It has been one week since I have returned home from training. The normal lifestyle is very different from the one I was living for the past five months. Heck, I am typing on a keyboard right now. I’m glad I still remember how to use a computer. Okay, I’m being over dramatic. I am waking up fairly early and finding myself bored by noon and I am tired by ten or eleven at night. I like waking up early though because it provides me more time in the day to do things. I’m pretty used to living off of little sleep anyway.
I’ve hung out with a few groups of friends so far and still making my rounds to see everyone. I’ve swapped rooms in the house so I could have a bigger room to live in. I repainted it and moved all of my stuff in. I treated myself and bought a pretty nice television to watch movies and play video games. I still have to move my clothes into the closet and my “decor” on the walls. Other than that, I have a pretty sweet set up in my room so far.
Right now, I’m actively looking for a job to get me started in law enforcement. The city, county, or state isn’t hiring at this time. I have applied for a couple of security positions and some other random jobs, so I am hoping I can find something soon. I have quite a bit saved up from active duty pay while in training, but that’s only going to last so long, and I have student loans to pay off as well. I’m sure it will work out in the end.
So for now, I’m going to hang out for a bit and enjoy this time off I have. There is a possible Florida trip in the making with a group of friends, so we’ll see how that turns out!
