This week, the last week of white phase, we learned basic combative skills to use when engaging an enemy unarmed. There are several positions that are dominate and offensive. It was a bunch of watching the demonstration and then performing the technique.
After learning all of the basic moves, we paired up and sparred with different people every two minutes. After we got experience trying to put each other in different holds and submission positions, we picked our strongest males and females to compete against the other platoons for a streamer on our phase banner. We started off well, but another platoon had some guys experienced because they wrestled in high school. We ended up being right in the middle as far as the platoon being the best in combative.
Overall, it was a really awesome component of training. I think everyone enjoyed it. It was motivating for most. We had a guy who was a pro-football player come in and give us a small motivating speech. His name was SP Herschal Walker.
Combative was super tiring and I can tell you I got some great sleep that night. And speaking of sleep, lights are out in five minutes. So… Goodnight!
Until next time,
