It’s been over a month since I’ve been able to write. I am now starting my fourth week of Basic Training and we have an hour of personal time each night to organize our bunks, a little exercise, shower, and write letters.
This whole experience hasn’t been too bad so far. I like it here and I am adjusting and making close friends. I have done a bunch of training so far that I will explain in further blogs when I have more time to write.
When I arrived at Basic, there were countless drill sergeants yelling and screaming in my face to run and take my heavy bags to the back of the building to get separated into platoons.
I get plenty to eat every day. We go to bed earlier and get up earlier way before sunrise for physical training. I sleep in a bay with several bunk beds. I’m on the bottom bunk with only about a foot of space between my head and the bottom of the bunk above me. I have to be careful when waking up. The weather here has been off and on. Today it was freezing the whole day and tomorrow it will be in the lower 50’s. I am looking forward to the warmer weather.
There is so much to write and so little time each night, so I will surely be writing any time I get the chance. If you want to send me some words of encouragement or just any kind of letter, my mailing address is the following:

The weeks seem to be flying by so far. Things I miss most are family, friends, candy, music, my bed, movies, driving, and basically doing what I want when I want.
Until next time,
