I have been working pretty hard lately to stay in shape and lose a few pounds. I have been running a bunch training for a half-marathon in September. After a late night run after I got off from work last Thursday, I stepped on the scale and it read 199.4. That is the first time I have gotten a reading under 200lbs. Sure, I lost a lot of water weight on the 7.4 mile run that night, but I still count it! I have weighed myself after sweating before and it had not gotten down that low even then.
I do not even remember when I weighed less than 200lbs. I remember I was just about at 200 pounds when I was sick with mono back in 2009. I was in show choir throughout high school. That was enough exercise throughout the week. After high school, I started to gain a bit, reaching a max of 234 pounds in March 2011 I believe. Shortly after that is when I started to become more active. I started slow and was trying to exercise as much as possible. I really did not start working out and running as much until this year. I started running more and made a goal of running a half-marathon, so I knew I had to start getting busy!
It has been an awesome journey so far. My next goal is to be 180 pounds. This would put me in the “normal” category on the BMI scale according my height and weight. Right now it has me listed as overweight. I have some issues on how they categorize people. Me…overweight? I do not think so, but it’s technically so. But that will soon change. Thank you to everyone who has supported me in any way!
