I have been working at the hospital for four months now. After six months from the hire date, I am able to apply for other jobs within the hospital that are not in housekeeping. Housekeeping is alright, but let’s get real here; it is not the most exciting job in the world. After my six months are up in September, I plan to look for a job opening in security. Security is closer to what I want to do with my career than housekeeping. At least it is on the right track of law enforcement. I suppose you could be silly and say, “But you are ‘cleaning up’ the criminals. That has something to do with housekeeping”. Funny pun.
The security position would definitely be more interesting to me. It might even pay more. That would be another advantage. I would still be working part-time in the evenings during school. I would get a sweet looking uniform and everything! I think it would definitely be a cool position to have starting out in the law enforcement career path.
I know I have stated this previously in another blog, but when I turn 21 I am going to apply for the city or county police force, whichever is accepting applications at the time, if either of them will be. If I happen to go down that path, I would work for the department until I graduate with my criminal justice degree and start looking for a federal law enforcement agency to join. I have done some browsing online and the U.S. Marshals look like something I would want to do. Either that or some other field agent. After a good amount of time in the field I want to become a leader and one of the higher positions.
That is just my outlook on where I want things to go in the future. What lies ahead is highly unexpected. You will hear the latest news on my adventures here!
