At work on my dinner break, I always have a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter. It is simple and convenient. Some co-workers like to rag on me or say “Peanut butter again?” I go by many names at work. Most of the time these people do not know my real name. I am often called Jason, Josh, Jay, Curtis, and recently, Peanut Butter Man by this older, female housekeeper. I do not mind. It is a cheap way to fill my stomach while at work. It is on the healthier side too.
I buy 100% whole wheat bread to go with the peanut butter. Sometimes I do get sick of it sometimes when I am working four days in a row, but in the end I think it is worth it. Yesterday, I was actually ran out of peanut butter at work and opted to bring in a salad from home rather than stopping at the grocery store on the way to work. Boy, did that throw them for a loop. Most of them freaked out because I was not eating peanut butter sandwiches. It is pretty much a big joke for most of them, but I could care less. If I did not choose this option of peanut butter, I would be paying about five dollars every time in the cafeteria. The little expenses add up and when I am trying to save money, it does not help one bit.
During lunch I eat peanut butter sandwiches and then during my last break I have popcorn. I say that is a pretty cheap and healthy way to eat at work.
