The following post was originally posted on February 26, 2011 titled “Just An Average Guy”. I started a blog on another blogging platform before I started here on WordPress. I had only written a few posts on this website and this was one of them. I find it very interesting to read things I have written in the past. That is one of the main reasons I started “The Castleman Callant”; I like to re-experience what I was thinking and watch how I have changed.
“Just An Average Guy” – February 27, 2011
So I’m just your average guy here living my life. Currently nineteen years old.
I have graduated from high school and continued onto college. I attended a university for one semester (Fall 2010) and I didn’t do so well. I didn’t focus on school as much as I should have. I was so focused on getting involved with everything and my grades were not up to par. Not to mention my standards. I’ve always been the “straight A” student. But college was another task I came along and I was not ready. I never had to study in high school so I did not have those skills to carry with me to college.
So right now I am taking a semester off from school. And yes I am going back. I’m actually switching up my major. There was too much math involved in my last major; I am no math whiz. People say that once you take a semester off you say you will go back but you never will. That is not me. I have come to learn that in order to have a decent job in this world these days, you are better off by getting a degree. So I will be going back this fall of 2011. I will be going to the university here in town that is plenty cheaper than the school I was going to. Right now I am living at home with my parents and working at a local grocery store to save up funds.
So here is my plan and short-term goals for the near future: Save enough money to buy a decent and reliable car, get accepted to my local university, and continue working until I can get a full-time position with the company I work for which will let me gain even more money. These are my major goals for the near future. Other goals that I have in mind for later on include: Move out and have a place of my own/sharing with other people, do very well in school and stay focused throughout, and continue working to save up money for the future.
This is just a speed bump in my life and I am determined to roll over this speed bump and continue on the path of adulthood. I am sure many people have caught themselves in this situation and I feel like I am doing the right thing by getting myself back on track and being confident that I will do that. Thanks to my mother and father for their support through these times. END
There you have it. I think there may be a few more postings that I might share here on WordPress in the near future.
