All three of these big athletic events are coming up soon! I plan to tune in to these events as much as I can.
Being a fan of tennis, I can not pass up the opportunity to see some of the greatest players compete yet again. I usually do not follow tennis or any big players regularly. I think last year I watched a bit of Wimbledon and was cheering for Andy Murray. This year, with the help of DVR, I should be able to watch more matches. I will probably focus more on the men’s side of the bracket due to the fact that I recognize more key players. I think it would be amazing to live life as a tennis player!
The Tour de France is also starting near the end of this month. I actually have never watched any more than a few hours of the race on television. Probably because it is the same actions over and over. (Like Nascar, a sport I truly do not care about) I find this race to be a very tough thing to do. It is definitely a team sport, but I bet others may be there, battling for themselves. I may be better off following this online with the help of certain websites. I am not entirely sure how this bicycle race actually works. I know there are several stages, but other than that, I do not know much about it. I guess this will be a learning experience!
The Olympics are always fun to watch. There are so many unique sports that you can not normally attend. The Olympics gather the best athletes in the world. It is just crazy to see these super-star athletes competing in the sport they are most dedicated. It is always awesome to root for your own country. I remember a few years ago when the USA women’s soccer team was doing really well. I am excited to see how well they will do this year. While the Olympics are being held and there is nothing that sparks your interest, there is bound to be some sport being aired that is fun to watch. GO USA!
