So my running has been put on hold for a bit. Yesterday evening I was hanging out with my friends Hitesh and Francisco. We were playing on some playground equipment at a nearby elementary school. We had previously made an obstacle course out of the three areas of equipment that is located at the school. All three of us attempt to do this obstacle course every so often to try to improve our times. It may sound like a child-like thing to do, but doing this gives us one heck of a workout! This course requires plenty of upper body strength to get across many types of monkey bar situations.
Now here comes the bad news. It was my turn to run through the course and when I was completing a type of “log-roll” exercise, I slipped off and must have twisted the middle of my back and spine. I tried to continue, but the pain was unbearable. I awoke this morning and the pain was still just as bad as was prior to laying down for bed. The fact that I sleep on a futon does not help the situation. I went to the doctor this afternoon so he could prescribe me some kind of medication to ease the pain and lessen the swelling. The medication was fairly cheap only costing me $2.30 for ten days of pills. I can already feel a difference with the first dosage. Hopefully I will be back in the running scene shortly!
