I have had my truck since March of last year (2011). This truck is a 1991 Chevy S10 pick-up. I borrowed some money from my dad and bought it from a private owner I found in the Peddler’s Post, which is a weekly issue of a big booklet of things people are trying to sell. I bought it for $2000. The only thing that needed to be replaced was a couple of exhaust parts that cost around $200. The interior was in pretty good shape. I can clearly see at this point, that this price was a steal. I cleaned the interior and bought some seat covers that look pretty sweet if you ask me! The truck came with a high-rise cap, but I really did not care much for the cap. I removed it and gave it away. When I bought the truck it had about 88,000 miles on it. This is crazy low mileage for a ’91! The couple I bought it from did not need the use for it any longer. They were the second owners of the vehicle. They stated that the first owner was an older gentleman who rarely left home.
The mileage on this truck has just reached 100,000. And it runs absolutely great. I have had no problems with the truck at all since I bought it. I make sure to get regular oil changes and change the air filter every once in a while. I am not sure when the tires need to be rotated. New tires were put on in October of 2010. It has a great V6 engine. The Chevy currently gets on average twenty miles per gallon. That is decent compared to other older vehicles. I still see many of the same model of this truck out on the road. So hopefully this will last me another 100,000 miles! The only thing that I would really want is a paint job on the car. It had been painted over previously by someone who did a poor job and the paint is peeling off. There is not too many rusty spots on the truck either. There are a few spots on the lower parts of the body, but that is it! Also, a few minor dents here and there.
Hopefully this truck will last for a good amount of time. It is paid for and the insurance couldn’t be any better for it! I love my little pick-up!
