This weekend I went up to my Grandpa and Grandma’s lake cottage to put in the dock for the season. I really was not looking forward to it, because it is quite a tedious job with our dock. It is not what you call, “easy assembly”. It was only my father and I that put in the dock this year, but we managed.
Usually one more person would make it easier. This only has to be done once a year so I figured, what’s a couple of hours out of the weekend. It has to get done, plus makes everyone happy with a dock out for access to the fishing boat! I have yet to be the one in the water with the waiters on to assemble the dock.
I have always been on the shore handing parts and sections to the two people in the water. This year was different, so I learned how to actually assemble the dock. Grandpa likes the dock perfectly level. The dock is only put in correctly when approval is given by Grandpa! It didn’t take us more than two hours and we had the dock in the lake. We also pushed the fishing boat lift into the water from the shore.
Now, everything is all ready for the fishermen in the family, which includes myself! I have to go buy a license for this year first, and I will be ready to go. My dad is on vacation this week, so I am heading up to the lake to do some fishing with him sometime through the week. I can’t wait to cast my line out for the first time this year! More to come on that action after my little fishing trip this week!
