That’s it folks. It’s all over. The end finally came, finals are over, and summer break is now here!
I can not believe how fast the Spring semester has flown by. It seems like this semester was shorter than the one in the Fall. Either way, I am not complaining that it went by fast. I now have a nice break to enjoy! I am not taking summer classes this summer, but I probably will in the years to come. I want to finish school in an adequate amount of time. These past two semesters, my first two of my college career, I have taken twelve credit hours each. Next semester I am registered for fifteen credit hours, which is five classes instead of four.
Next semester I am registered for two classes on campus and three classes online. For my first two classes I have to go to campus and sit in on class, like I normally would and have been doing for all of my classes thus far. My other three classes are online. I have yet to take a class online, so I am not sure yet what it will be like. I am taking somewhat of a risk scheduling three. I know that taking online classes takes a lot of determination, motivation, and focus to get the work done. Only one of my online classes requires me to go to campus for tests. Other than that, all of the work is online through the university’s BlackBoard system. I feel like I will do alright in the online classes. I spend a good amount of time on the computer…doing anything at random. I feel I could click on my class and see what assignments are due that week or day and just do them right away. I would send it right in on the computer and then not worry about it until the next assignment pops up that is due. Overall, I am really interested to see what these online classes turn out to be.
With this summer break ahead of me, I am going to have some time to do things. I really would like to go somewhere. It does not have to be extremely far. I have been looking at places where the Amtrak railroads travel to…all over the U.S.! Of course the farther you travel, the more expensive it is. I feel riding the rails would definitely be cheaper than driving, due to the gas prices these days. The nearest station is North of where I live, in Waterloo, Indiana. I could drive up there and hop on a train to somewhere! Easy as that. I have yet to decide what I want to do this summer. I want to stay busy and active. I want to make the most of the three months…who doesn’t!
Here’s to the start of a summer I hope to remember!
