I am starting the seventh week of the Spring semester. I can not believe that the semester is already almost half over. I have been keeping up in all of my classes and doing fairly well.
My math class is going pretty smoothly. I have been introduced to some tough math problems and I am getting the hang of solving them. I currently have an “A” in math and plan to keep that letter grade throughout. I have a test scheduled for a week from now. I feel like if I do a bit more studying and do more problems throughout the chapter, I should do fairly well. My first two tests have been “A’s” so let us hope I can keep the streak going.
My philosophy class is probably the class that I have the most trouble with at this point in time. There is never any homework besides reading the textbook chapters. I go to class and listen to him lecture the whole time while taking notes. The class is based on quiz and test scores, and so far only two quizzes have been taken. The first test is online starting today and ends Wednesday at noon. I am planning to meet with four or five other people who have the same class to work on the test together. This way, all of us can put our minds together and get a fantastic grade on the first test, so I am hoping. Sometimes it is really hard to pay attention in this class. My mind drifts to other places often when I am not nodding off. I am seeing to turning this around after the test and try to find an interest in this philosophical stuff.
My composition class is somewhat easy for me. I am learning quite a bit of information. We have several reading assignments and notes due. There are three papers throughout the course. I have recently turned in an argumentative essay paper. I am eager to receive the grade for that essay. The next project is a big research paper. We will be spending quite a bit of time on the process of creating this paper. I am actually looking forward to writing this paper, however, I am not sure what I want to research. We can research anything that we want.
And finally, my Intro to Computers course. It is a joke. All of our quizzes and tests are open book and open notes. To fail this class, you have to try hard to fail. I am sure I will get an “A” in this course at the end of the semester. I am learning some cool computer tricks though. We are done learning the basics about computers: the functions of the different hardware and software parts. Now we are beginning to learn about the functions of different software such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. I think it will be very beneficial to me. I just know the basics about Word and PowerPoint, but nothing about Excel and what it is capable of doing. So, I am very excited to start these chapters.
Overall this semester is an easy semester. I am getting a good GPA base my first year. I am somewhat looking forward to the harder classes, because I like to be challenged. Also, I can not wait to take some more criminal justice classes this fall! But before that, let me enjoy the summer!
