I enjoy to play my guitar from time to time. When I was younger, around 6th and 7th grade, I took lessons at a local music shop, because I was very interested in learning how to play. I went to lessons for about a year and a half until I did not want to do it anymore. I did not think I was getting anywhere, and I did not feel like any progress was being made. I was not putting in enough time in between lessons to practice. I felt as if I was wasting money at that point. I set the guitar down for a good while. I picked it up every once in a while here and there just to hear it. The guitar went in to the back of the closet for several years.
Just recently, I dug out the “old” electric guitar and decided I wanted an acoustic one instead. That way, it is more easily transportable. I went on Craigslist and traded my off-brand electric guitar and amp for a Fender F-15 acoustic guitar. Since then, I have started to play more. Whenever I have time in my day, I like to learn part of a song and practice what I already know. It is pretty much a hobby of mine. I do not consider myself good at playing the guitar by any means! I just fiddle around with it and learn songs as I please.
I recently just finished and recorded a song I learned. It is called “45” by the artist Shinedown. It’s not perfect: the notes nor the singing. I just enjoy doing it! I am in the process of learning another song called “Simple Man” by the same artist, Shinedown.
I find that playing the guitar is fun and relaxing. Soon enough I will know plenty of songs!
Here is my first recorded song “45”:
