Today I received some good news and some bad news. I was informed that the position I applied for was eliminated. The county did not have room in the budget for that position and was not in need of it. However, they added a new job opening for a Visitation Clerk. This position pays $11, more than the $9 for the other posting. The job is for 12 – 18 hours per week and the hours are in the evening time which is perfect, because I have classed in the morning and like to go to the gym afterwards. The essential functions of this job include: greeting inmate visitors, visually checking identification, enter data into a database of some sort, and produce visitation lists for the police reserves. Also, to maintain cleanliness of the visitation lobby. Basically, this job is to control the flow of visitors for the Allen County Jail inmates. That’s pretty cool!
I just finished sending the application in online about ten minutes ago. They stop taking applications on the eighteenth for this position. I am probably going to be getting a personal interview, just like I was for the last one due to my connection. I sure hope so! I am more excited about this job application than the last! Definitely a lot more interesting!
