This is just a little update as the Fall semester of my freshman year closes out. I have taken all of my finals and felt very confident while taking them. My grades for the courses I taken in the Fall have already been established, before finals week is even over. This is due to the fact that all of my finals were done by Tuesday afternoon. In my criminal justice class I received a B. In my learning strategies class, an A. I got an A in my English 129 class. And finally I received an A in my math 109 class. So overall, 3 A’s and 1 B. I am very proud of what I have accomplished this semester and I will continue my hard work into the next semesters to follow. If I calculated correctly, my grade point average would be 3.75 for the semester.
I believe that I am more focused by living at home and commuting to school, than attending an out-of-town university while living in a dorm, like I previously did. When I was attending Ball State, there were many factors that added to the distractions in my life. They certainly did not help during my studies at all, and prevented me to perform in the classroom as well as I wanted to. It is a big step, going from high school to college. A lot more work is involved in college, and there is plenty at stake. My “senioritis” carried over into my first semester of college. I realized that it was not working out at Ball State and decided it was best if I were to attend school here at home. I have adapted to IPFW and made it my home. I enjoy the campus and the facilities it provides, especially the athletic center where I like to exercise. Overall, I am more focused on the task at hand: working towards my degree. I have met many wonderful friends and professors so far. I can not wait for this journey to continue! Let the three-week break begin! See you soon Spring semester!
